Avdi Square is located in the neighbourhood of Metaxourgeio, Athens, Greece. It is surrounded by several theaters, residential buildings, businesses and cafes. In 2008, the square was completely revamped with an addition of several plants, bushes, trees and new tiled walkways. Kolonaki is a trendy and expensive neighborhood in Athens. The streets around Kolonaki Square feature the most elegant boutiques in the city. The square itself (officially named Filikis Eterias) is the favorite meeting place of celebrities and other beautiful people. Kolonaki Square is located in Athens, Greece and is named after an old column. Towards the end of the 19th Century, the area of the square comprised of only the ancient column. It was between the year 1895-1900, that plants and trees were planted around the column to convert it in to the square it is today.
