Located midway along busy Poppies Street, Kubuku bar is a low-key yet popular nighttime haunt for drinkers and has been a mainstay in Kuta for over a decade. It is a surprisingly large, open-fronted venue with a vast dining area replete with a centerpeice fountain and rich red table furnishings. It even has a large corner dancefloor for when things really heat up. The main activity is focused around its large circular bar which shows live sports action, and every drinker receives a comlimentary shot of frozen vodka. Mexican and Thai favorites are offered on a varied menu that also includes Balinese duck, fresh seafood, and the usual selection of pastas and burgers. Another one of the big nightspots, Apache features live music every night. With seating around a huge dance floor, this dark bar always get packed with people. It serves all of your favorite cocktails, imported and local beer and some Balinese spirits. Enjoy reggae music and Top-40 from the local bands. For the shy ones, sit upstairs and watch the dancing and excitement below. With regular fashion shows, special nights and celebrations, the party at Apache lasts until the wee hours of the morning.
Bagus Bar is an extremely popular watering hole right in the center of Kuta's clubbing district and enjoys the perfect location right beside busy Jalan Legian. Dimly lit yet with a spacious interior, it features two large TV screens for round-the-clock sports action. They also host occasional live music nights. Its circular bar is always vibrant and serves up cheap imported liquor and premium beers in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere. The food menu is basic and limited to pasta, burgers and chicken steaks with a few interesting starters such as eggplant chips and butterfly shrimp. Located right in the heart of the action in Kuta, the Sky Garden has brought a refreshing stimulus to the local nightlife scene and is among the most popular spots for discerning clubbers. It encompasses three floors of stylish lounging and dancing, including an open-air dance floor and terrace to admire the night sky and the hubbub of busy Jalan Legian below. The ground floor is made up of the ESC deli and café, and round-the-clock snacks and meals can also be had in the top floor lookout bar and lounge. The decor is very stylish, yet subtle enough to relax in comfort with inviting sofas and intimate wood-paneled alcoves. Sky Garden is open until 3am each night.

Although a bit pricey, all dishes are made from fresh local produce with a blend of Western and Balinese cooking. Bread and pastry are baked daily. The less adventurous can always go for hamburgers instead. Some favorites include Thai beef salad and Australian beefsteaks. For dessert, try the black rice pudding or Bavarian Cheesecake. Alleycats fits in seamlessly within backpacker-friendly Poppies Lane and has a typically no-frills decor, as well as a raucous dive bar atmosphere. It is set back from the sidewalk in a secluded courtyard, yet the deafening music draws in plenty of drinkers looking for a fun night out. It is furnished with an open plan aspect and has a decent western menu, but is most definitely not the place for a quiet romantic meal. This place offers huge burgers, pasta and healthy sandwiches, but this is strictly a night time haunt for rowdy drinking games and party antics. Clientele generally attracts young surfer types and the vibe is friendly. Prices are among the cheapest in this part of town and midweek happy hours ensure there is a healthy sized crowd most nights.
With live music every night, Hard Rock Cafe Bali is styled similarly to the famous US-owned Hard Rock venues. Located opposite Kuta Beach, it also boasts a convenient location. Dine in a unique and interesting atmosphere and enjoy good music. Although a little on the expensive side, a good crowd creates a vibrant atmosphere. Try the Hard Rock Hamburger or pork spare ribs in barbecue sauce while sipping a cocktail, beer or soft drink. Finish off a satisfying feed with some gratifying coffee or tea.
