"A Must For Architecture Buffs"

Charnley-Persky House's building, designed in 1891 by Louis Sullivan and Frank Lloyd Wright, serves as the headquarters for the Society of Architectural Historians. Wright called it the "first modern house in America." One of his first commissions as a junior draftsman, the house bears many of the traits that became trademarks of his design style. The museum offers a walking tour of Astor Street. Plan your visit to the house either on Wednesdays which free or Saturdays at a charge. You can also head to the house with your friends throughout the week with a prior appointment.
