The Hall of Nations includes flags from almost 200 of the member states of the United Nations. The floor is an visual representation of the world, and murals are located throughout the building to showcase different areas and cultures in the global community.
The Moody Planetarium of Texas Tech University offers visual spectacles at a very reasonable rate. Shows held in the planetarium feature information about about space including breathtaking visual scenery of the night sky and outer space. The planetarium also shows laser shows with exciting music and accompanying images. This planetarium is truly the perfect place to take the whole family for an out of this world experience.
Once upon a time, in a far away land, the tickets for Texas Tech Red Raiders basketball games were easily available. But the recent prominence of the team on the national stage has made tickets harder to come by for their home games at . The crowd is always filled with students and alumni and is quite rowdy. This stadium is not only for sports, as it has also hosted concerts by such world famous acts as Sir Elton John and Kiss.
The up-and-coming entertainment district in Lubbock is known as the Depot District. Home to such venues and restaurants as Cactus Theater, the Buddy Holly Center, Blue Light, and Heaven, among others, it is the place to be when the sun goes down. Creating a haven for the arts in Lubbock, the Louise Hopkins Underwood Center for the Arts (LHUCA) aims to create a community art center for western Texas. Classes as well as spaces in the center are affordable and many non-profits make their home in the LHUCA. Each month, a different artist's work is featured at the site, and programs and events are ongoing.
