The Riverside Golf Course, located in Old Hickory, Tennessee, is the perfect place for those beginning to golf or those who enjoy a leisurely course. Open to the public, the Riverside Center includes a nine-hole executive course which is ideal for new players, but is also useful for experienced golfers wishing to work on their game. In addition to the executive course, Riverside offers the Farm Lakes regulation course which is a par 70 course with nine holes including water challenges. The General's Retreat Course was designed by Gary Roger Baird and is the home of the Ladies Professional Golf Association's Sara Lee Classic. Golf Digest gives this course its highest rating. Minutes away from Gaylord Opryland Resort & Convention Center lies this beautiful, green, 18-hole golf course. On the banks of the Cumberland river, this link-style golf course offers more than golfing space. An institutefor golf coaching operates here. In the center is the huge clubhouse featuring meeting rooms, banquet rooms, dining and shopping areas. At the fourth hole there's the Springhouse, from which the club gets its name.
Two Rivers Golf Course is one of Nashville's oldest and features fast greens and open fairways. Popular with novice and experienced golfers, the par 72 course offers a fair amount of challenge. Tee times are available as early as 7am, and while a reservation is not required, it is highly encouraged. Foursomes are also encouraged, and standard course attire of collars, cuffs and soft spikes is requested.
Doubling up as a recreational park, the Two Rivers Park is spread over 374 acres (151.3 hectares). Home to a skate park, wave pools, water slides, a golf course and even a skate park, Two Rivers ensures you a rollicking time within its borders. The park is also the location of a historic mansion, now a popular venue for weddings and events. There are also numerous picnic shelters dotting the park, a disc golf course and a gorgeous pedestrian bridge spanning across the Cumberland River. The Historic Edgefield district, known for its Victorian houses and artists' bungalows, is home to one of the city's oldest parks. Sloping terrain, tiny Lake Sevier and old trees provide peaceful seclusion at the Shelby Park and Golf Course. Come in the daytime for a picnic or to feed the ducks. Trails are available for rollerblading and cycling in addition to softball, tennis court and playground facilities to keep you entertained. The adjacent 72-par Bermuda greens golf course is open to public throughout the week.
