The sunny golden walls of this intimate, 18-table restaurant seem to reflect the south of France rather than the Austrian origin of its owner and head chef, Johannes Bacher. No matter how unusual the combination, Johannes brings it all together in a beautifully presented meal. Yellow beets as an appetizer? In balsamic syrup and an Austrian pumpkin seed sauce, it is sublime. Lobster in the mashed potatoes? It is a perfect accompaniment to the crispy Atlantic salmon. There is an extensive by-the-glass wine list and an exceptional variety of imported and domestic beers.
Fisherman's Market & Grill is the best fish market you'll find in landlocked Palm Springs. Insisting on only the freshest fish available, Fisherman's takes daily trips to dockside fish markets in order to maintain their discerning standards. The menu is populated almost exclusively by seafood, although the grill offers "land lubber" options of typical steak and chicken. The highlights here are contained on the chalkboard special, a lineup of twenty two different kinds of fish, each with a particular cooking method to ensure the quality fish shines through its complements. Consistently ranked as one of the best fish markets in the area, Fisherman's Market & Grill is perfect for those seeking an oceanic oasis in the midst of Palm Springs.
Shanghai Reds lies behind its charming sister restaurant Fisherman's Market, tempting visitors in with the aromas of fresh seafood dishes being made to order. As opposed to Fisherman's Market, Shanghai Reds focuses on well-conceived entrees that dance between American, Italian and Tex-Mex, but which keep the focus on the exceptionally fresh seafood purchased daily from dockside fishermen. There are options for vegetarians as well as those who aren't keen on seafood, but the bulk of the menu and the majority of the restaurant's focus features their exceptional shellfish and fish creations.
Just outside of the Palm Canyon district, this classic restaurant earned Zagat Guide's “Best Restaurant in the Valley” designation. Most guests prefer to dine on the flower-filled, tree-shaded patio, which is heated or cooled to suit the season. While the food is billed as “Mediterranean French California Cuisine,” the French influence prevails. The menu features Paté de Foie Gras, Fish baked with Dijon Mustard Mousseline, and Grilled Veal. Special requests can be accommodated with one day's notice.
Agua Bar & Grill in Spa Resort Casino is located near the hotel lobby. The restaurant has a very warm atmosphere and offers an outdoor patio seating arrangement. The menu is a mix of full course dinners, burgers, sandwiches and desserts. Theme nights and weekly events happen regularly at this place. The restaurant can also be rented for private parties.
Azul Tapas Lounge is appropriately housed in a hacienda-style building in downtown Palm Springs, beckoning guests in with the raucous sounds of its outdoor patio area and regular nightly events. The tapas are perfect to share or pair with the rest of Azul's expansive menu. The selection on the menu jumps between Tex-Mex, American, French and Italian, only going to show that Azul's wants to make sure all of its guests are happy. On that note, the happy hour specials are some of the best deals in town, featuring more tapas-style dishes at a price that will have you and your friends dining away into sunset.
This place has an intimate and romantic atmosphere, perfect for a nice dinner. They have a patio that is a wonderful place to enjoy their seasonally changing menu. They have a prix fixe option, lunch, dinner and even a kid's menu. Their food is made with fresh ingredients and cooked to perfection, like the porterhouse steak (that almost melts in the mouth) and the caesar salad (crispy, cold and lightly dressed). They also have an extensive wine and cocktail selection, if it is sweet and juicy flavor that you are craving, you should go for the sangria. All their bread and pastries are made in house. Don't miss the outstanding desert bread pudding: hot and light on the inside but crispy on the outside. Riccio's Steak, Seafood and Pasta has a great staff, with good service. It is a classy spot in Palm Springs for a great lunch or dinner.
Combining Northern Italian cuisine with Southern Sicilian touches, this spot was one of Frank Sinatra's favorites. Gentle lighting, comfortable booths and spacious tables prepare guests for an evening of outstanding food and drink. Everything from the fragrant bread to the sausages is made on the premises, under the watchful eye of the Riccios and Executive Chef Mario Marfia. The Riccio Cioppino is particularly prized, and the rich, mouthwatering Tiramisu for dessert is terrific. There is an extensive wine list of predominately Italian vintages.
