Perkins Stone Mansion

Constructed in 1837, the Perkins Stone Mansion belonged to Colonel Simon Perkins, who was the son of Akron's founder General Simon Perkins. This historic house museum is now maintained by the Summit County Historical Society of Akron and is also their headquarters. One of the most striking Greek Revival style houses in the area, the repository is decked with period furnishing telling the story of its past residents, city and county.

Akron Art Museum

Established in 1922, the Akron Art Museum showcases a fine selection of contemporary and modern works of art. The museum structure consists of glass and steel frames spread across the entire gallery. The collections in the art gallery range from 1850 till the most recent times showcasing more than 5000 pieces of work from local, national and international locations. There is a Bud & Susie Rogers Garden that is utilized to showcase special exhibits or to conduct experimental learning. Live events and concerts also take place at this venue.

Akron Fossils & Science Center

The Akron Fossils & Science Center is noted for its hands-on guided tours and science activities. The exhibits here display many fossils from Ohio and around the world. This 4,500 square-foot museum also has an outdoor adventure park called Truassic Park. The museum is devoted to informing the people about the creationist theory on the universe's origin.

Hudson Springs Park

Encompassing 260-acre (105.21-hectare) green recreation area, Hudson Springs Park features a 50-acre (20.23-hectare) lake, hiking trail, playground for children, picnic table, open meadow, disc golf, water fountain, clean restrooms, and ample parking space. The park is also home to varied wildlife. Some of the commonly found animals and birds are geese, foxes, deer, herons, owls, hawks, and ducks. Picnicking and Fishing activities are popular among the locals.

Hudson Historic District

Dotted with historic buildings and quaint streets, the Hudson Historic District encompasses over 139 acres (56 hectares,) the major part of downtown Hudson. Take a stroll on these inviting streets that boasts impressive structures housing an assortment of trendy boutique stores, antique shops, galleries, restaurants, and charming cafes. The historic district also harbors Classical Revival buildings such as Columbia County Courthouse, Old City Hall, and the U.S. Post Office building.

Akron-Summit County Public Library

Though the library's history goes back to the 19th Century, the current main branch was erected in 1969. Akron-Summit County Public Library underwent a major renovation in 2004 to keep up with the pace of modern times. It also hosts movie screenings, poetry slams, craft workshops and story times. Besides a children's library, the facility covers various zones such as Culture & AV, Special Collections, Business & Government, Magazines & Newspapers, and Science & Technology. The three-level library also features a 425-seat theater, meeting spaces, a used book-store, an outdoor amphitheater, Microbusiness Center, U.S. Passport and Notary services, study rooms, computer labs, a recording studio and cafe.
