Massillon Community Park is a city park that is used mostly by the local community. It features ball fields, a picnic area, an open pavilion, trails, a grassy area and soccer fields. It is also used for local events such as festivals and concerts.
Situated in one of the most picturesque locations in the city, Rockside Station makes every commute a lot more exciting. Although this might be a commercial station, its idyllic setting and warm atmosphere has earned it the status of a tourist attraction. Make your way to this site, hop onto a train and enjoy a ride through the landscape of the Cuyahoga Valley National Park.
This unique art museum in Alliance is believed to be home to the world's largest troll collection and on display are trolls from the mythological era to modern times. The 45 minute tour of the museum will take you through two floors, six rooms, and a troll cave complete with waterfalls and a troll mountain. They have an extensive gift shop that carries vintage trolls, works of glass and metal art, candles, wind chimes and many more items. After exploring the museum visitors can enjoy a refreshing drink or a delicious waffle at their Grumpy Troll Cafe. The museum can be visited by people of all ages and spend a good time learning about the world of mystique and magic.
Enjoy watching horses race against each other? If so head straight to Thistledown in Cleveland. Various derbys are held here on a regular basis, from the Ohio Derby to Belmont Day and more. This spectacular race track has some excellent facilities such as a gifts shop where one can purchase souvenirs and trinkets. Big Creek Reservation is a sprawling piece of untouched forest, in the little town of Middleburg Heights. Under the care and protection of the city park council, this scenic woodland has been transformed into an educational and recreational center, offering a multitude of trips and activities to the masses. Featuring numerous walking and biking trails, picnic spaces, fishing facilities, playgrounds and trek routes, there's plenty to be indulged in for outdoor-enthusiasts. The council also organizes bird-watching and nature awareness trips, wherein visitors can spot, interact and learn about the local flora and fauna.
