USS Slater

The USS Slater is a World War II destroyer docked on the Hudson River in Albany. It was used during World War II to fight Nazi U-Boats in the North Atlantic and is the only one of these destroyer escorts still on the water in the United States. Following a 15-year restoration, the boat has been completely restored to its original glory, so much so that one can see where the sailors lived and carried out their daily exercises and operations. The Deck-by-Deck tour is particularly popular and offers an interactive experience that's sure to thrill all ages. Besides guided tours, the museum also offers a unique overnight camping activity where tourists get to live like a navy sailor.

Mandeville Gallery

Nestled in the state of New York, Mandeville Gallery is a part of Union College’s bustling campus. This unique art gallery is situated in Nott Memorial’s circular building. Established in the year 1995, this art gallery showcases contemporary artworks that are put together by talented artists from all around the country. It features thousands of artworks. Along with Schaffer Library, the Mandeville Gallery is known to host annual art exhibitions. They also host art-related workshops and talk shows here.

Hart Cluett Museum

The Hart-Cluett Historic House Museum is housed in a townhouse in Troy. The Federal-style building was built by William Howard in the early nineteenth century and now functions as a museum displaying local history and culture. Take a tour of the house and explore its beautiful design and intricate décor. The displays include antique artefacts, furniture, photographs and a rich collection of archives, depicting the history of the dwelling as well as its inhabitants. The house is open for public on the second Saturday of each month, from March until November at 2 PM. You can also arrange for a group or private tour by appointment.
