At Bootsverleih am Wildpark you can rent out row boats, canoes, and kayaks. They also run guided tours for groups on a motor boat of the surrounding area. There is lots of natural beauty to be discovered whether you decide to do a tour or explore the park on your own. Landlocked Leipzig has a surprisingly large amount of waterways consisting of rivers and canals linked up to some of the man-made lakes. Lindenau-Museum is a popular art museum nestled in the scenic region of Altenburg. This museum was constructed in late 19th Century by Bernhard August von Lindenau. Neues Rathaus is the third of the city halls and was built between 1907 to 1911 by Richard Möbius. This beautiful Art Nouveau structure is on the same complex as the Altes Rathaus. It was the only building that survived the World War II bombings. It also features various artworks in its many rooms. It has a carillon with 48 bells in its tower and a lovely Roland statue on its facade.
Bibliotheca Albertina is also referred to as Leipzig University Library and Universitätsbibliothek Leipzig. Counted among the oldest German libraries, it traces its origins to the 16th Century and is housed in a majestic building constructed in the Neo-Renaissance style. Its façade exhibits magnificent stonework, columns, balustrades and arched windows. The interiors are imposing with lofty ceilings, vaulted rooms, wide passages and stairways. Illustrious librarians such as Ernst Gotthelf Gersdorf, Christian Gottlieb Jöcher and Joachim Feller have worked here. Since 1542, its year of inception, it has functioned as the main library of the University of Leipzig. It boasts of an extensive collection of manuscripts and books, some dating back to 1600 BCE and inscribed on materials like ostracon and papyrus. Besides German volumes, it also stocks medieval prints and manuscripts from Egypt, Persia and Saudi Arabia.

Laden fuer Nichts was a project space for avant-garde art from 1998 to 2007 until it shifted to its present location in Leipziger Baumwollspinnerei. Thereafter, it morphed into a public art gallery that showcases the works of non-native artists. While it still continues to support innovative projects, its focus is on contemporary art exhibitions. Uniquely German art finds expression in portraiture, landscapes, calligraphy and abstract works, while magazine and pop art are blended with other genres.
