Het Ketelhuis

One of Amsterdam's hottest independent cinemas, Het Ketelhuis, which translates as The Boiler House, is a part of the Westergasfabriek collection of bars, cafés and design studios found just outside the city center in the culturally active Westerpark area of Amsterdam. Art house and indie movies from a host of countries are shown here, though the subtitles are most often in Dutch. In addition to showing movies, Het Ketelhuis serves food in the evenings, and from the afternoon on Sundays, as well as all the drinks you would expect from a popular bar. During the summer months, the cinema offers open air screenings, advertised on the website well in advance.
