Museum of Anatolian Civilizations

The Museum of Anatolian Civilizations (Anadolu Medeniyetleri Müzesi) in the city of Ankara presents itself as perfect guide to the country's multi-colored and varied history of civilizations and cultures that have evolved on its land. The artifacts have been collected from archaeological sites such as the Çatalhöyük and Gordium, most of which are housed inside the two monuments; Mahmut Paşa Bedesteni and Kurşunlu Han, both dating back to the 15th-century Ottoman era. The initial rooms in the main building (Kurşunlu Han) hold artifacts from the Neolithicum, the Chalcolithicum, and the Early Bronze era. Other rooms carry forward the exhibit of artifacts such as important letters, coins, reliefs and statues from the Early Hittite and the Hittite civilization. The Phrygians collection is mainly focused on the large tumulus and the recreation of the tomb of King Midas with the statue of the Mother Goddess Kybele. Jewelery, coins and vessels made from ceramics, gold and silver, mainly represent the Greek, Hellenistic, Roman and Byzantine Period which elaborately showcases its cultural assets.

War of Independence Museum

Established in 1961, The War of Independence Museum is situated in the Turkish Grand National Assembly building. The museum showcases photographs, scripts, documents and furnishings pertaining to the Independence War, having served as the Republican People's Party's Headquarters in the past. Each of the rooms in the museum feature their own exhibits that all offer a glimpse into the times of war for independence.

Altınköy Open Air Museum

Gençlik Parkı

Ulucanlar Prison Museum

Created in the year 1925, Ulucanlar Prison Museum is an erstwhile prison which originally served as an army depot. Several noted people have been imprisoned here including Bulent Ecevit, a former prime minister; noted poets like Ahmed Arif and Nazim Hikmet; revolutionaries like Deniz Gezmis and journalists like Cuneyt Arcayurek.
