A keep in the fourteenth century, Zimmertoren's clock tower dates back to 1930 which is credited to clock-maker and astronomer Louis Zimmer. This tower with its world-famous clock dial was named after the astronomer. The monumental dial consists of twelve clocks surrounding a central one in a circular pattern consisting of fifty-seven dials, showing times around the world and moon phases among other things. The on-site museum gives an intriguing peak into the history and workings of the clock.
The Heysel Exhibition Park is known for hosting the Brussels International Exposition in 1935 and Expo in 1958. The iconic Atomium built for the World's Fair in 1958 is considered as the most iconic monument in the Heysel Park. Currently being used for trade fairs, The Centenary Palace was once a venue for the 32nd Eurovision Song Contest Grand Prix in 1987. The park is also home to the newly rebuilt Heysel Stadium now known as King Baudouin Stadium. Other places of interest on the Heysel Plateau are a large movie theater named Kinepolis, a park with miniature models of famous European building called Mini-Europe and subtropical water-park and a planetarium. The Heysel Plateau is also home to Palais 12, a large indoor arena with a capacity of 15,000 people perfect for concerts and shows.
