"Historic Roman-era Vestige"
An important link to Arezzo's Roman past, this amphitheater, albeit now in ruins has endured through the years since its conception during 117-138 CE. The amphitheater is laid out in an elliptical shape, and it was derived from its ruins that the complex was originally constructed primarily with sandstone, although elements of marble and brick are also visible. After periodical restoration, the amphitheater ruins now serve as an open-air theater for Arezzo's local events, besides also serving as a significant testament to Arezzo's distant past.
