Wayfarer

Standing practically on the beach, Wayfarer is one of the city's favorites when it comes to honest local cooking and stunning views of the sea. Step inside the restaurant and you'll be greeted by a charming lodge-style dining room with its huge wooden beams. There has been a visible effort to not play with the original interiors with old-school lamps hanging from the beams over each table and a muted color palette across the restaurant. There are flashes of contemporary touches though with a suspended wooden frame carrying what appears to be glass lit lanterns being the highlight of the room. Woods feature extensively in the decor and pretty much set the cozy vibe of the place. Excecutive chef Josh Archibald delights with his approach to the delights of the Pacific Northwest with a menu that is a harmonious mix of the classics as well as innovative takes. Seafood is a specialty with the menu revolving around the freshest catch available. Chill out at the lounge with a selection of cocktails. Check website for more.

Bowpicker Fish & Chips

Bowpicker Fish & Chips is a boat converted into a food truck that sells lightly beer battered Albacore tuna and steak fries. Served with a scoop of tartar sauce, the fish nuggets are fresh, light and crispy. There is usually a queue outside the food truck as the fish is made to order. Affordable and delicious, the generous portions of fish and chips are always served with a smile.

Street 14 Coffee

Primarily a coffee house, Street 14 Coffee began as a humble stand at the Farmer's market before moving to a charming location near the Astoria riverfront. Street 14 Coffee's comfortable vintage vibes satisfy all the musings of a coffee lover. Besides serving fantastic coffees by the local Stumptown brand, Street 14 also serves scrumptious breakfast treats to go with it. There is a special menu for kids that includes French toast and an egg dish, making this the perfect place for a lazy family brunch.

Blue Scorcher Bakery Café

Imagine breaking a piece off a loaf of hand-crafted bread, then going on to sip a cup of fresh organic coffee, with a serving of cardamom almond rolls on the side, waiting for you to bite into. Find all this and more at the Blue Scorcher Bakery Café situated inside the historic Fort George Building on Duane Street. An idyllic location to keep warm and fill yourself with some home-made treats, especially during the winter rains, this bakery café is all about loving the organic. With special attention to our gluten-free friends, this bakery has something for everyone. The café operates on the concept of a seasonal menu, ensuring that all dishes are the result of fresh ingredients. There is a kids play area here which is perfect for parents who want to relax with a cup of coffee and the Sunday New York Times.

Mary Todd's Worker Bar & Grill

Mary Todd's Worker Bar & Grill is the friendly local go-to bar on Marine drive. The bar serves classic cocktails and beers at affordable prices. Traditional American pub-grub like burgers and fries, hotdogs and bacon served here are delicious. The bar is a great after-hours place to unwind with friends.

Bridgewater Bistro

The Bridgewater Bistro, idyllic as ever, is perched on the Columbia river pier and offers splendid views of the bridge. Perfect for a breezy brunch, this bistro surrounds its patrons with an amazing atmosphere, made better with fresh American fare and oodles of wine and beer. While this eatery has a main section for dining, there is also a mezzanine which allows for private event seating such as wedding receptions that are popularly held here. Bridgewater also hosts local jazz performances in the evenings, making it the perfect opportunity to sit back and enjoy stunning sunset views with lilting melodies in the background.
