Since its construction in 1972, it has been home to the University's basketball team, Panthers. One of downtown Atlanta's oldest buildings, the Georgia Railroad Freight Depot is a local landmark constructed in 1869. Originally serving as Georgia Railroad's main freight depot, the venue was renovated by the Georgia Building Authority (GBA) in the 1980s. The venue retains its historic charm with its original freight bays and 19th-century brickwork.
