Auckland War Memorial Museum

One of New Zealand's earliest museums, the Auckland War Memorial Museum houses some of the country's largest collection of Maori and Pacific Island taonga (treasures), as well as a heritage library. It also has fantastic interactive discovery centers for children, as well as the Scars on the Heart exhibition of New Zealand war history. A 20-minute Maori cultural performance featuring songs, poi dances, stick games, a weaponry display and haka also takes place here. The steps of the Auckland War Memorial Museum offer splendid views over the Cenotaph forecourt to the Domain, the city, the Waitemata Harbour, and beyond.

Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki

The Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki houses and displays the largest and most comprehensive collection of New Zealand and international art in the country. First opened in 1888, this Victorian-esque building is built in the French Chateau style. The various temporary and permanent exhibitions at Auckland Art Gallery Toi o Tāmaki feature artworks that span numerous periods and art mediums. This extraordinary art gallery is home to timeless works of art attributed to native as well as international artists. The gallery also boasts other amenities such as a library, a shop and a café.

Caluzzi

A night here at Caluzzi is always a night out to remember. Auckland's most fabulous and friendly drag queens lip-sync to their favorite torch songs as you wine and dine in this cozy venue. Entry is by prior booking only. The entertainers chat at the tables, and later everyone is welcome on the dance floor. Caluzzi is popular with groups from all walks of life; but there is no point coming here if you are looking for a quiet night! The set dinner menu includes dishes such as Scotch fillet steak, vegetarian pasta and Thai chicken curry. Caluzzi is fully licensed.

Pumphouse Theatre & Gallery

The old Pumphouse, with its tall landmark chimney on the shores of Lake Pupuke, stands as a glorious red brick reminder of the past and is now restored as a charming theatre and gallery. The Pumphouse café overlooks the lake with its gentle urban tree-framed view, ducks, swans and energetic rowers and sailors. The North Shore Theatre and Arts Trust administers the Pumphouse. The Gallery is situated upstairs and functions as a show place for North Shore arts and crafts with a wide-ranging variety of exhibitions.

North Harbour Hockey Stadium

North Harbour Hockey Stadium hosts New Zealand's junior hockey to international hockey tournaments. A few miles away from Auckland's center, the stadium is equipped with four hockey turfs. Eden Park
