It is the home field for four high schools in the city: Austin, Anderson, McCallum and Lanier High Schools. The stadium opened in 1939 on land donated by former diplomat Edward M. House, and was dedicated to the Austin High School students who lost their lives in World War I and II. The stadium seats 6500 spectators.
