The Kerbey Lane Café on Guadalupe by the UT campus nourishes the creative minds of local artists by featuring their work, and they often change things up by showcasing art from different people. Their non-alcoholic apple cider is actually fresh-pressed apple juice, but is every bit as yummy. The diner partakes in the queso (a Mexican-style melted cheese dip) and pancake craze popular amongst students and young hipsters, so the Cowboy Queso (pancake and queso topped with black beans, guacamole and pico de gallo with a side of salsa and chips) is a must-try. Apple Whole Wheat Pancakes are the stand-out pancakes, and, thankfully, Kerbey Lane Café sells their regionally famous pancake mix on-site so you can make your own at home.
This is the place to go in Austin when you're craving some tasty foods and fine Southern hospitality. With items like the Three Alarm Taco and its flour tortilla wrap containing scrambled eggs, jalapenos, potatoes, jack and cheddar cheeses and covered in a spicy chipotle sauce served on the breakfast menu, it's a good thing that breakfast items are served any time of the day. The enchiladas are certainly worth trying, especially the popular BBQ Chicken Enchilada with its unique take on the enchilada.

If you're on a tight budget and craving sweets, definitely think about dropping by Ken's doughnuts! Located walking distance from UT campus, it's convenient for those living around that area or just visiting the University. This place offers all kinds of doughnuts and refreshments to accompany your sweet tooth. Open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, there's really no reason why you can't find time to stop by and grab a few doughnuts to take back home or offer to your friends. Doughnuts run really cheap here and still taste great.
This funky roadside restaurant, located on the grounds of Days Inn University along Interstate 35, provides a hip late-night hangout for all types. Musicians and music fans alike mingle over omelets, breakfast tacos and a full range of diner food. Students are drawn to it because of the late night hours, convenience to UT and affordable menu items. After 2am there is often a wait while the bar crowd trickles in. The walls are covered with artwork, not anything typical, usually very eclectic or raw pieces are shown. The atmosphere is laid back and casual with diner booths filling the small space.
