Wink Restaurant

This dynamic fine dining establishment is a favorite among Austin denizens. With cool tones and Japanese rice paper displayed in the windows, Wink is known for their fresh seafood and innovative dishes. Truly a farm to table restaurant, Wink strives to source local ingredients from local purveyors and even has its seafood selections flown in daily from both coasts. Along with a seasonal menu, the wine list features a rotating selection of 70 vintage labels and varieties.

Casa De Luz

Serving macrobiotic food in a community setting, this restaurant offers natural, organic, vegan meals. One complete, balanced macrobiotic meal is created for lunch and another completely different meal will be offered for dinner. You will not find a menu, as the chef plans meals daily based on the seasons. The cooks work continuously during each meal to keep the fresh food coming, as you may go back for seconds as often as you like. The fresh steamed greens with almond sauce are a favorite of many patrons. Its environment is spacious and airy with many windows surrounding the dining area. There is even a silent table, where guests may eat without being disturbed.

Kerbey Lane Cafe

Kerbey Lane Cafe has been cloned several times now, but the original location of this Austin icon is still a local favorite. Its wonderfully diverse menu is a sight to behold for vegetarians. The vegetables are homegrown and pesticide-free, and the beef and chicken are free-range. Breakfast features omelets, pancakes and great breakfast tacos. The restaurant is open 24 hours between Thursday and Sunday, perfect for your late night weekend eats. No wonder it is an institution here.

The Driskill Grill

FoodHeads

Foodheads began in 1992 as a boxed lunch catering company. Later it transformed an old house, near the UT Drag, to house its dine-in restaurant that has attracted quite a crowd. Students and Central Austinites flock to this popular lunch spot on the weekend to enjoy made-from-scratch sandwiches on FoodHeads' sunny patio. The casual eatery has a favorable reputation for fresh food, homemade soups and giant sandwiches like mom used to prepare. Try one of their delectable specialties like pastrami, tuna Nicoise or smoked salmon bagel with a refreshing cold iced tea.

Odd Duck

Established in 2013, by brothers Bryce and Dylan Gilmore, Odd Duck on South Lamar Boulevard serves modern American fare in a rustic contemporary setting. The menu is driven by head chef Mark David Buley and features an array of seasonally-inspired eats that are prepared using fresh, locally-sourced ingredients. The Baharat Spiced Pork Chop, Wagyu Bavette, and Antelope Tataki are some of the seasonal specialties from the menu. Odd Duck's bar fare is mainly known for its craft cocktails that pair extremely well with the food on offer.
