Hiely Lucullus

This is a good quality restaurant which will not break the bank and should be checked out at least once. It's a little difficult to find, being at the top of a long flight of stairs off the busy Rue de la République. A smart restaurant with an array of traditional gourmet dishes including terrine d'aubergines et poivrons fondants (aubergine and pepper paté), morue à l'huile d'olive (eel in olive oil) and pintade aux pêches (guinea-fowl with peaches). They offer an excellent cheese platter and simple yet excellent desserts like baba au rhum a light pastry with a syrupy liqueur. Service is good, friendly and discreet. A reminder that there is heaven on earth...
