"Great food at two venues"
This former Spanish consulate, set in the heart of the old city centre has two entrances. The first looks out onto the Palais des Papes is open in winter and is decorated in Renaissance style with a stone chimney, chandeliers and windows. It also forms the entrance to the Palais des Papes hotel. The other entrance is on the Place de l'Horloge and is perfect in summer with its green terrace and Provençal décor from the '30s. The food is excellent with impeccable service that meets your every need. In spring don't miss the sumptuous aloes (a herring-like sea fish) marinated for a long time in gnôle (a type of liqueur). The dessert trolley is as pretty as a picture with a fantastic chocolate mousse as its centrepiece. This place is for people who enjoy the way food looks as well as how it tastes.
