Two palaces from the 19th Century have been transformed to house Hotel Condes de Barcelona. The hotel underwent renovation in 2002 but preserved the fine stonework, columns, friezes and wrought-iron balconies of the original structure. The renovation also included a complete interior makeover, and the adjacent property was annexed as well. The entrance hall has a magnificent pentagonal skylight, and the bedrooms have been decorated in the style of a luxurious 19th-century mansion, which was the former niche of the building! The views from the rooftop terrace of the Passeig de Gràcia are unforgettable. The hotel's restaurant, Lasarte, is European cuisine at its finest.
