Associated with the prestigious Centre de Cultura Contemporània de Barcelona (CCCB), the Teatre CCCB is a multipurpose event venue. Featuring two event spaces, namely, Sala Teatre with a seating capacity of 600 and Sala Raval that seats 170 people, it hosts various cultural programs, lectures and exhibitions throughout the year.
The Centre Sant Pere Apostol or 'The Center' was established in 1892. It is a non-profit organization hosting cultural activities with the objective of uniting various communities of the St. Peter. Sta. Caterina and La Ribera neighborhoods. The Centre houses a glass theater, an auditorium, a small cafeteria, a chapel, a terrace patio and a library room. These facilities are made available for cultural programs and meeting purposes, for the communities.
Located inside the Centro de Cultura Contemporánea de Barcelona, L'Alternativa Hall is a part of the Festival de Cinema Independent de Barcelona. It shows various international indie movies selected by the panel throughout the year and is host movie festivals that highlight independent cinema.
Located in Calle Consell de Cent, in the heart of the art gallery district of Barcelona, this gallery is not only specialized in Catalan paintings of the 19th and 20th Centuries, but also has a great variety of art objects from the modernist era. It's the gallery to go to if you are looking for some really good art work. Both paintings and sculptures, from the Catalan modernist scene, as well as other decorative objects which followed this artistic trend, such as furniture, mirrors and vases are a part of the treasured collection. The collection also contains landscapes by Joaquim Mir, paintings by Isidro Nonell, and works by Santiago Rusiñol and Ramón Casas. Apart from pieces of furniture, designed by Gaspar Homar, you can also find sculptures by Casanovas and Frederic Marès.
Named after the gallery director, Galeria Toni Tàpies was opened in 1994. The gallery presents works by internationally known contemporary artists like Jeff Brouws, Sasha Weidner and Ann Veronica Janssens. The gallery regularly participates in a number of international and prestigious art fairs all over the world.
Museu del Perfum is located in one of the downtown shops of the Regia Perfumeries chain, in a building in Passeig de Gràcia. The collection includes almost 5000 perfumes and aromas from different cultures and civilizations, dating from Ancient Egypt up to the present day. It was created with objects related to the perfume industry that the owners of this shop collected over the years. Their collection of china perfume bottles from the 18th and 19th Centuries is noteworthy. Among other interesting items, they display limited editions, such as a bottle designed by Dalí. In short, visiting this museum is like going on a trip to a world of aromatic sensations without the travel expense!
