"Past Royalty Living"

The construction on Barrington Court had begun in 1538 and was completed in the late 1550s. It is a beautiful Tudor mansion located near Ilminster, Somerset, England. With wooden carved doors, age-old hanging chandeliers, a very inviting garden and statues greeting you on your walk around the garden, this is like diving into the echoes of Somerset history. Owned by several families till 1745, this house fell into despair and was used as a tenant farm later. The first repairs were done between 1865-1960 by Alfred Hoare Powell and was soon acquired by the National Trust in 1907. Originally surrounded by a medieval deer park, in the 17th century this was converted into a formal garden.
