The only one of its kind in the region, this museum's superb collection of over 100 classic cars and motorbikes is a knockout. Rolls Royces, Ferraris, Jaguars and Bugattis, from early prototypes to the very latest models designed to compete in legendary races such as the Le Mans 24-hour race and the Paris-Dakar rally are all on display. It has its own shop and occasionally organizes collectors' car exchange fairs. Call ahead for varying dates.
Established in 1972, Zoo Sikypark was initially called Siky Ranch. Located between Gänsbrunnen and Crémines, the zoo specializes in native birds of prey and big cats.
The highlight is a completely preserved dinosaur skeleton that was discovered near Frick.
Found at an elevation of 1,414 meters (4,639 feet), Belchen or Black Forest Belchen as it is also referred to as is regarded as one of the highest summits in the Black Forest. The unique feature of the summit here is that it brings together three different municipalities named, Kleines Wiesental, Schönenberg and Münstertal. Also, in 1949, Belchen was declared a nature reserve thanks to the wide range of flora and fauna found here. Pay a visit to Belchen to marvel at the spectacular view of Mont Blanc in the French Alps.
Located in the Aarburg municipality of the Aargau canton, the Aarburg Castle is a heritage structure. This Swiss castle is perched atop the Aarburg on a hillside. Dating back to the 13th Century, the castle is a medieval structure and has seen many reconstruction works. This designated structure of national heritage and significance, the Aarburg Castle has now been converted into the Kantonale Jugendheim, which is a center of reforming juvenile offenders.
A prominent landmark in Solothurn, Waldegg Castle is found in a scenic location surrounded with baroque lawns, offering spellbinding views of the landscape. One of the most splendid aristocratic estates of the town, the castle now serves as a popular museum exhibiting the history and tradition of Solothurn. The various exhibits at the museum portray the life and times of Solothurn during the 18th Century. Exhibition at the Waldegg Castle museum focuses on the castle's construction apart from chronicling the Besenval family history.
