"Picturesque River that Passes Through a Glen"

Passing through one of the Glens of Antrim runs the marvelous River Dun. Running through Glendun, the river garners a lot of attention from its brown color. The color which comes to it from the peat bogs that are situated at the source of the river has led to the referring of the river as the Brown River. While it is spanned stunningly by the three arched viaduct that was completed in 1839, it is highly renowned for being home to the rare population of brown trout. Eels present by the river also make for a great sight for tourists. The river is a true delight for anglers and fly fishers, with permits available at 5 Main Street, Cushendun.
