St. George's Market

St. George's Market has been a long-established market and events venue in Belfast. You have to be up early to catch up with real good bargains. St. George's fish is the freshest and cheapest in the city. Squid and salmon aside, you can get almost anything here. From shoelaces to second-hand books, carpets to candle holders, aubergines to angel figurines, just about anything. On special occasions like Christmas, Easter and St. Patrick's Day, the market is abuzz with exotic foods and live music.

No Alibis

No Alibis specializes in crime fiction in all its colorful shapes and forms; whodunits, thrillers, murder mysteries, detective fiction and more. No Alibis is also Belfast's foremost independent bookstore stocking American 20th-century politics and history texts, offering an efficient and comprehensive ordering service for the students of American Studies at Queen's University which is just around the corner. Victoria Square Shopping Centre

Opened in 2008, the Victoria Square Shopping Centre is a shopping area that is spread over 80,000 square feet in the the heart of Belfast. All of the major international brands like Nando's, Costa's Coffee, Starbucks, Mc Donalds and T.G.I.F are conspicuous by their presence here, along with boutiques, nightclubs, cafe-bars, art galleries and resting spots. CastleCourt

CastleCourt is the city's premier shopping experience. Since it opened in the late 1980s, it has become immensely popular with Belfast shoppers. It offers around 80 local and international retail outlets with Debenhams being the flagship store. Others include Gap, Laura Ashley, Republic, Blue Inc and Exhibit. It is a two-story mall with marble floors, glass domes, and natural light. There are self-service food outlets including KFC, Burger King, and Costa Coffee where you can relax and take a break.

An Ceathrú Póilí

Housed inside the Cultúrlann on Falls Road, An Ceathrú Póilí is a brilliant bookstore. The shop stocks most of available Irish literature, you will also find here English reference books about Irish culture and literature. Established in 1991, An Ceathrú Póilí is one of just a few remaining, exclusively Irish-language bookstores in United Kingdom. Also on offer are a selection of gift items and greeting cards (in English as well as Irish). If you're looking for some hard-to-find Irish book, you'll probably find it on one of the shelves at An Ceathrú Póilí.
