"Sister of Vidhana Soudha"
The Vikasa Soudha is a large monumental building that is known to be inspired from the more popular Vidhana Soudha. Located on Ambedkar Road, this structure was a dream of the former Chief Minister Dr. S. M. Krishna. The gray colored building was built to offload a few activities from the main administrative headquarters, the Vidhana Soudha. Eventually, many of the offices were shifted into this new building. The Vikasa Soudha possesses some interesting amenities like solar power and rainwater harvesting, which the older building lacks. The stones for creating the structure were taken from various granite pits in Karnataka. The huge premises are replete with halls, conference rooms, and vital government offices.
