Located a few miles away from Busot, the Canelobre Caves are a popular tourist attraction with their unique rock formations and a large cathedral like vault. With heights reaching up to 70 meters (230 feet), the caves provide excellent sound acoustics and often host live music concerts in their depths. The unique and whimsical rock formations are lighted up in blue, purple, pink, orange among many other colors which give them a beautiful, unearthly look. Open all year round during the day, the caves can be visited with a guided tour with the tickets being directly sold at a counter on the site.

An award winning museum, Museo Arqueológico de Alicante is dedicated to displaying the evolution of Spanish culture and civilization. Divided into sections based on era and location, this museum immerses its visitors into the life and age through various artifacts relevant to the time. With most objects and artifacts displayed chronologically, visitors are taken through the transition of lifestyle and culture through the ages. Apart from physical artifacts, several animated displays offer interactive, educational sessions of various historic events.

Established in the year 1976 owing to the efforts of noted Spanish artist Eusebio Sempere, Alicante Museum of Contemporary Art features three exciting permanent collections consisting of nearly 800 art works. The museum occupies the city's earliest civil structure, Asegurada. First permanent exhibit is a wonderful assemblage of art from 20th Century, featuring art works by Julio Gonzalez and Juan Gris. Celebrated artist Juana Frances donated her art collection to the museum in 1990 while the Eusebio Sempere Collection has been housed here since the year 1997.

Santa Bárbara Castle looms over Alicante from its seat atop Benacantil Mountain, its imposing form an omnipresent backdrop no matter where you are in the city. Originally constructed in the 9th Century by the Islamic rulers of the Iberian Peninsula, the vast fortress grew over the subsequent eras, with each who held its reigns adding to its monumental embrace. One of Europe's largest Medieval forts, Santa Bárbara Castle was given its name by Alfonso of Castile who captured the bastion on the feast day of Saint Barbara in 1248. Split into three distinct parts, each representative of a different time period, there is much to explore, from cannons and a moat to dungeons, palaces and even a ruined church. Crown of Alicante, the castle's vantage point grants stunning views over the city, coast and surrounding countryside. It is possible to climb or drive to the castle, although the quickest route to the top is via an elevator carved into the mountainside.

Home to the eponymous mountain, which offers spellbinding views of the surrounding vistas, Montgó Natural Park is an expansive reserve that features breathtaking sights. Encompassing the sloping inclines of the striking landmark, the park is home to an extensive array of flora and fauna; many endangered species of animals are indigenous to the area. Various hiking routes lead to the mountain.

Offering picturesque views of the surrounding vistas, Via Verde de Denia is a scenic trail which spans the length of a defunct railway route from Dénia to El Verger. These paths, which can be traversed on foot or bike, wind through green patches of land, striking rural structures, and stunning orange groves among other spellbinding attractions.
