"12th-century Church"

The second-oldest church in Bern, Nydeggkirche was built sometime between 1341-1346 as a replacement for a ruined fort, a fact that is made evident by its rooftop turret. Set along the Aare tributary, the church can be accessed by crossing the Nydegg Bridge which was constructed during the 17th Century. The church doors are one of its main attractions which have early depictions from the bible carved out of bronze.
