"Distinct Architectural Style"
Among the numerous ornate temples that dot the map of Bhubaneswar, Brahmeswara Temple boasts a major significance in the city's rich heritage. This 9th-century masterwork reflects the traditional Odisha architecture comprising the Rekha Deul or the Sikhara (tower) and the horizontal structure named Jagmohan (Assembly Hall). The temple shares a striking resemblance to Mukteswar Temple with the interior carvings of Jagmohan and the lion head figures. But what marks the temple's distinctive style is the depiction of musicians and dancers on the exterior and the pioneer use of iron beams. Also, the images of Chamunda, Lord Siva and various deities on the temple's western side are not merely for worship but a sight of marvel as well!
