The housewife's favorite, this colorful fresh produce market sells meat, fish, fruit, vegetables and other local goods. The locals believe it's the world's biggest covered market and there's a commemorative plaque at the main door of the Mercado de La Ribera that makes just such an ambitious claim. Located among the maze of restaurants in the Old Town area of Bilbao, Restaurante Víctor Montes stands out from the rest. This restaurant occupies two floors and has ample space which includes a food store, the main restaurant, a dining area, a terrace and a bar as well. Relish the traditional Basque food such as Cod al Pil Pil, Cod a la Vizcaina along with a great selection of wines from the bar.
