Located at the English Village shopping center in Mountain Brook, Chez Lulu serves an eclectic version of classic French cuisine. The restaurant resembles a playful combination of classic bistro and second-hand shop. The tables are an interesting metal construction, and the walls are adorned with miscellaneous antique objects. The menu features classic French cuisine like vegetable tarts and soups made fresh each evening. As an extension of the Continental Bakery next door, Chez Lulu serves excellent bread and wonderful pastries for dessert. Chez Lulu also offers live entertainment, including accordian players every Sunday and bellydancers every other Thursday evening.
The Avondale Brewing Company has made it a mission to combine the quirky and fascinating history of Avondale with the art of brewing craft beer. All of the beers are named after important locations or events in the history of the area, like the Battle Field IPA or the Spring Street Saison. The brewery offers tours several times a week which include some Avondale Brewing swag, and a beer or four tasters and a pint glass or taster glasses in addition to the actual tour itself. The brewery also hosts special events and live music from time to time.

An open kitchen is further intriguing as one can see the dishes being meticulously prepared by the chef. Originally started by the Hastings, the food at The OvenBird restaurant uses live fire cooking technique. They serve a dinner menu with dishes from all over the world, included on the menu are Deviled Eggs, Tuna and Avocado Toast, Grilled Corn, Sunchoke Paella, Goat Merguez and a limited dessert menu. The most ordered dish here is the beef candle that has a candle made from animal fat placed in the bowl with the soup. It has an indoor as well as outdoor seating with a garden gallery where one could relax and dine surrounded by the true bliss of nature.
Located on Highland Avenue near Five Points South, Café Bottega offers an eclectic menu of mostly Italian dishes, including pizza, in a very stylish setting. The building itself resembles a Roman civic building with faux arch and a decorative concrete facade. It's an Art-Deco style and the furnishings are elegant and tasteful. As the little brother of Bottega Restaurant, the café offers a completely different menu, but the same high level of service.
