"Unique Church of Shropshire"

Characterized by features that are not found in any other church within the county of Shropshire, St Luke's Church stands strong even after centuries of service. Originally built in the 12th Century, the church underwent major expansion and alteration during the 14th and 19th Centuries, however sections of the original church still remain. The church features a completely octagonal tower and three gables at the East end - features which are not found elsewhere in the county. Inside there are a number of fine treasures including 19th- and 20th-century stained glass windows, a few notable memorials and an ancient font. The stained glass windows at the east end of the church are well-renown for their connection to the story of the Holy Grail which has once more come to the forefront of public interest after the publishing of "The Da Vinci Code" written by Dan Brown. Still very much an active parish church, St. Luke's welcomes visitors from every walk of life with open arms.
