"Arts and Crafts Cottage"
One of the largest group of cottages designed in the Arts and Crafts style by Ernest Gimson. Stoneywell is one of those five cottages and was built in 1899 for Sydney Gimson, Ernest's brother, as a summer residence. With much of the original furniture retained in its place, this cottage has stayed with the Gimson family for well over a century. In the spring of 2013, The National Trust was able to procure the property along with all its contents from the Grimson family, in order to protect it as a heritage property. They are still in the process of taking donations in order to save this charming little cottage for the years to come.
