"Music Of The Sea"

This tall organ jutting out from the promenade and glaring at the majestic ocean is an artwork like no other. Extending to the height of 15 meters (49.3 feet), this tidal organ is often upheld as the musical manifestation of the sea. It was designed by Liam Curtin and John Gooding and serves as a unique combination as Blackpool's natural and man made wonders. The instrument is played by the sea waves during high tide, through its eight attached pipes to the sea wall. These eight pipes are connected to 18 pipes under the organ. The best time to hear the instrument is two to three hours before and after the high tide.
