Fort Warren

Built during the 18th century, Fort Warren is a great historic landmark that is located in the heart of Georges Island. This historic site was named after the revolutionary fighter by the name of Dr. Joseph Warren who was killed in the battle of Bunker Hill. The fort today is managed by the Massachusetts Department of Conservation and Recreation and is open for tours from early – mid may through Columbus day weekend. You can tour around the fort by yourself or simply ask for a guide. There are several places to see within the fort area. There are several exhibits, rifles, guns that were used during various battles and the world war.
