Le Chasseron is an alpine mountain and is a part of the Jura mountain range. One can get a good view of the town of Sainte-Croix once at the top. The mountain stands at a height of 1607 meters/5272 feet above sea level. It is said to have been listed as one of the most isolated mountains in the country.
The Visitantinnenkirche is an early baroque central building with a four-leaf clover inscribed in its floor plan. The construction planned by Hans Franz Reyff was carried out in 1653-56. While the facade on the outside and the wall structure on the inside are committed to the early Baroque, the multi-part, network-like ribbed vaults show Gothic design principles.
Hidden in the verdant Areuse Gorge is Saut de Brot, a small bridge connecting walking trails on either side of the secluded canyon. Charming in its own right, the bridge is a modest stone structure made spectacular by its setting. Prolific growth surrounds the attraction, which hangs over the Areuse river, creating a spot so pretty it looks like the picture on a postcard. Saut de Brot is primarily enjoyed by hikers and nature enthusiasts who stumble across it while touring the lush Brot-Dessous area. Although the origins of the bridge remain unknown, its construction is speculated to be fairly recent.
