Bowthorpe Park Farm

Bowthorpe Park Farm situated in Witham-on-the-Hill village is serene, beautiful and one of the major farms in the city in terms of agricultural production. Various tours are offered at Bowthorpe Park by the owners of the farm, Blanchard family to schools, colleges and other educational institutions wherein the students get a glimpse of the daily life at the farm and get a chance to be in close proximity to cattle and livestock here. The main attraction at Bowthorpe Park Farm is the mighty oak situated in the heart of the farm that is hollow from the inside and has a girth of 13.3 meters (43.63 feet) making it larger than any Pedunculate Oak in the country. This tree is considered by experts to be over a thousand years old which also makes it the oldest tree in the country. This mighty, hollow oak plays host to small, private parties on a regular basis and has the capacity to host up to 20 people at a time. First used as a private event space by Squire of Bowthorpe in the 1760s, the Bowthorpe Oak at the Bowthorpe Park Farm is a major attraction in the village and is a must visit. Snack bar and picnic area are available at the farm to ensure you have a fun and pleasant time during your visit.

Grimsthorpe Castle

Grimsthorpe Castle is a country house situated in the middle of 3000 acres (1214 hectares) of landscaped gardens. The castle park has everything from green pastures, lakes, woods etc to pavilions and towers. The castle greatly represents a fortress and is an interesting visit. You can watch ancient trees and wildflowers in its park land, hire cycles and cycle around the estate and children can enjoy the lovely playground. There are also guided tours to explain to you more about the history of the place and a tea room that serves delicious food. The castle is still owned by the de Eresby family that came here in 1516.

Ayscoughfee Hall

Ayscoughfee Hall is a British medieval house enveloped with picturesque, well-maintained gardens. Located at the heart of Spalding, the Hall features a museum, which has a humongous collection of photographs, documents, agricultural tools and memorabilia pertaining to the general history of the locals.
