Waller Friedhof und Waller Park

The final resting place of many well-known local personalities, Waller Cemetery was opened in May 1875 and is home to numerous different species of trees (beech, oak, birch), making it particularly well-suited for a leisurely stroll. A walk around the graveyard provides visitors with a good insight into local history: a war memorial is located near the entrance, and there is a special memorial to those who lost their lives defending the Bremen Republic in 1919. Waller Park is situated next to the cemetery and makes a good starting point for a stroll around the greenbelt of west Bremen. Formerly a farm owned by several well-to-do local families, the land was bought by the city in 1924 and turned into a public park.
