"Experience the Night Sky"

The first planetarium in Queensland, the Sir Thomas Brisbane Planetarium was established in 1978 in the spectacular Mount Coot-tha Botanical Gardens. Within the site's Cosmic Skydome, visitors look out onto a perfect view of space as seen in the Southern Hemisphere. An on-site gallery features astronomical photographs, maps, and diagrams. Visitors are invited to chat with the planetarium's astronomers when sky conditions are suitable for stargazing. There are multiple shows conducted in the planetarium that also houses a large sundial, a souvenir shop. One of the most important activities in the planetarium is the night sky show conducted on Fridays.
