Best Pubs in Brisbane

, 5 Options Found

There is plenty of room to sit down with your group and talk without having to yell, and plenty of space to relive your dancing days. A newly renovated marble interior greets you upon entry at The Embassy. For those who enjoy a casual gamble, take a peek downstairs at the gaming room, complete with an array of gaming machines and its own bar facilities. The bar is five-star with more than 100 kinds of bottles beers on offer along with 16 beers on tap. Wines, signature concoctions and hard liqueur drinks are also available. The extensive bar menu ensures that the most finicky of tastes are catered for. If not, nothing is too much to ask of the extremely friendly staff. Standard pub fare is available, with a few surprises like steaks and seafood platters.

With three completely different levels, the Alliance offers something for everyone. The rickety basement level holds a small bar and several pool tables for those wanting a quiet night out. The public bar on the street level is more modern and the granite bar is newly renovated. The drink selection includes craft beer and nibbles are available at the ground level bar.

Situated beneath the famous Base Backpackers in the City, the Down Under is the best place in Brisbane to mix with people from all corners of the globe. The atmosphere is always friendly as travelers converge to mingle, exchange stories and decide where to move on to next. A favorite amongst local students keen to hear about foreign parts of the world, it is always the rage on the weekends and dance music usually plays right until dawn. Inexpensive yet satisfying meals and bargain drink prices make the Down Under a traveler's paradise.

A hub of interaction among university students, the RE is a popular venue. The rear of the pub opens into a large beer garden with live bands often entertaining the enthusiastic crowd. Since the Royal Exchange Hotel is situated within an old hotel, there are many rooms with pool tables and seating arrangements upstairs. A small gaming machine area is also located behind the beer garden. Drinks are extremely well-priced and a bottle shop is conveniently located next door for those take-outs.

Located in the center of the city, the Victory makes an excellent early starting point for those who are keen for a big night out. The large beer garden area is the popular meeting place for many Brisbane office workers, and coupled with the cheap drink prices and excellent live bands, it is not hard to see why the crowds are often spilling onto the sidewalk. Once you have exhausted yourself with Sunday shopping, spend the “arvo” kicking back to the sounds of Australia's best rock and roll from the 1980s and 1990s.
