Pulp Fiction

Genre fiction is much maligned by the literary elite, but there is no arguing with its popularity. Whether you would like to explore a hidden realm, visit a distant planet, or walk the mean streets in a trench coat, Pulp Fiction will more than accommodate for your needs with a wide range of fantasy, science fiction, crime and mystery books. While small, there is still plenty of space to browse through the countless titles, making exploring the store an adventure in itself. The helpful staff will happily order something in for you if it is not on the shelves.

Westfield Chermside

In 1957 the "Chermside Drive-in" was Australia's first shopping center and now, many developments later, is a spacious complex with 2,700 car spaces (1,000 under cover) and 140 specialty shops with Myer as the flagship. The colorful, newest development boasts a 16-cinema multiplexes, restaurants, a refurbished Myer, a 900-seat food court and more specialty stores. Supermarkets Coles and BiLo, Kmart and Target fulfill the quota offering the customer the lot!

David Jones

David Jones concentrates mainly on selling beautiful clothes, furnishings and furniture. Since first opening in Sydney in 1838, there are now seven stores in Queensland. Gourmet foods and a coffee shop are found on the ground floor, three floors of stylish fashion and home furnishings to drool over are found further up. Services, such as gift and bridal registry, hair and beauty salon, interior decorating, gift-wrapping and merchandising throughout Australia and overseas are features also. This store maintains a policy of matching competitors' prices.

Comics Etc

As the name suggests, comics are not the only things you will find here. With a wide range of toys and models, role-playing games, collector cards, videos, t-shirts and other comic related merchandise, this is probably the biggest and best store of its kind in the city. The store is appealing because of its petite interiors and the collector's items in the display cabinets that give you an idea of the quirky pop cultural tidbits within. So the next time you want to know what the "Joker" has been up to off late or who has "Spiderman" saved recently, head to this store right away!

Brisbane Arcade

Opened in 1936, Brisbane Arcade is a heritage masterpiece with three elegant floors of fashion. Walk the first floor balcony to find dressmakers, jewelers, photography and cameras, bridal, books, and beauty shops, all with exquisite shop fronts to examine, even before you enter. Ground floor finds fashion, including two up-market shoe shops, a bear shop to delight all, a chocolate shop and an artistic florist. Do not miss the sophisticated shop in the downstairs area to enjoy the fashion, home furnishings and exclusive gifts for children, surrounding a coffee shop with innovative, elegant snacks. Superb!

The Myer Centre

When this center opened in 1988 it created history as the largest central business district shopping complex, everyday shopping becoming an entertainment experience. The exterior kept four historical façades, while inside is classic Victorian-revival styling, or "Old Queenslander", with cast-iron decorations, verandas, light-giving atriums and sub-tropical palms and gardens adding to the Queensland feel. With over 180 stores, you'll be able to find whatever you're looking for. With everything from toy stores, to news stands, to jewelery, and of course clothes, this is the only shopping stop you need to make. All that shopping making you hungry? No problem! Myer Centre has a wide variety of restaurants to suit every taste, like Shanghai Noodle and Magic Wrap.
