"Cave of Colors"

Located on the Mendip Hills, the Cox's Cave is a part of Cheddar Gorge. Open to public as a show cave, it is named after its discoverer George Cox. First explored in 1837, it was discovered accidentally while sourcing limestone. Consisting of seven grottoes, traces of minerals found in the surface of the cave have provided the stalagmites with a plethora of colors, ranging from black to orange and white. It is a widely appreciated cave, owing to its unique beauty.
