La Mirabelle

This restaurant is near the campus of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel/Université Libre de Bruxelles Free University. This great brasserie may just be too good for this bustling college-crowd neighborhood. Started more than 25 years ago by three students; there is a young, lively atmosphere in this large but cozy restaurant. The owners continue to serve remarkably good food: traditional brasserie fare (steaks, chops, etc.) with some Portuguese influences. The clientele consists of more professors than students, and this place would be just as crowded if it were located in the city centre.
