"Saluting the War Heroes"

A brain-child of the renowned architect Charles Sargeant Jagger, the Anglo-Belgian Memorial (Brussels) is a war memorial dedicated to the fallen British soldiers of the World War I. The memorial consists of the sculptures of a British and a Belgian soldier and depicts Belgian farmers helping the wounded British warriors. Unveiled in 1923, the memorial has been a popular landmark of the town ever since.
