The Marché du Midi is a large, attractive market near Gare du Midi (Station Zuid). All nationalities are represented here and they also have products you will not find at an ordinary market. Find baskets full of fresh olives, dried fish, Greek pastries and all kinds of herbs. Even the vegetables look bigger and fresher than they do elsewhere. The stalls are colorful and the local dishes are incredibly tasty. A local's scene of Brussels, the market is usually packed full of shoppers and encouraging vendors.
The Marche aux Puces is one of the largest daily flea markets in the world! Here, nearly 200 dealers converge to offer up an abundance of steals and bargains on bric-a-bracs and antiques. Chez Pias is the Belgian outpost of the record company [PIAS]. What was once the office of the newspaper Le Peuple where you could hear the incessant noise of the press, has now been turned into the swanky administrative office, performance venue and music store of [PIAS], where the only sounds are of the musicians and singers who regularly perform here. You will find vintage vinyl and records as well as contemporary albums in the store. The concert hall has played host to artists such as Agnes Obel, Tom Waits and Pixies, to name a few. The space also houses a bar and a restaurant called Humphrey, making this a truly unique spot that celebrates all the pleasures of life.

Place Jourdanplein is located between Etterbeek and European Quarters. The public square of central Brussels is home to several popular stores, boutiques, businesses and eateries which is why it is one of the busiest squares in the city. A weekly market fills up the square on every Sunday, between 7a and 2p. This market is somewhat of a cross between a village fair and an urban flea market. Dod is a highly recommended shop. You can buy new clothes and shoes at giveaway prices here. Everything is either seconds or a leftover from last year's collections. They even have brand clothes, but of course not at the normal price. Shoes, coats, trousers, shirts, T-shirts, look around and enjoy the prices. On Saturdays it is usually very crowded here; should you like to look around at ease, come during the week.
