No Me Nombres is a hip clothing and accessory store in the heart of Palermo. Their window display changes almost every other day, always tempting you with the latest fashions. Their dresses are adorable and they always know how to match accessories to anything you're interested in. The employees seem pretty apathetic to your presence so you won't feel overly pressured to buy anything. The store is small but packed with cute tops, skirts, dresses, belts and other accessories fit for the season. They have a very tiny dressing room but it does the trick.
Farmacia Baur is a large pharmacy that focuses more on the medicine than the beauty supplies. Many pharmacies in Buenos Aires have a large stock of household supplies and beauty accessories, but Farmacia Baur has a much smaller selection. However, they are very well stocked on medication. It is a family owned store with very friendly employees. You can simply go in describe your ailment and they will most likely be able to supply you with a medicine right on the spot. If they can't help you they will call around to see who can.
New Garden may not be a super market, but compared to most other health food similar to it, it is much larger and better stocked. Here, you can buy foods that are a little harder to find, such as canned black beans or organic jams. You can also buy seeds, granola, dried fruit, etc. all by the kilo. It is a great place to stock up to make your own granola at home. The store is usually fairly busy, but there are generally several employees walking around that can help you.
Malambo, a wine and cheese shop, is named after the gaucho male tap dance that dates back to the 1600s in the Argentine Pampas. The staff's understanding of Argentine wines and locally made cheeses is evident from the expert advice generously shared with visitors to this local shop. The origin of the wines and knowledge about the bodegas producing the different varieties make purchasing an edifying experience. Excellent ideas for pairing wine and cheese with different foods ensure a perfect dining experience. There are always some unexpected Argentine crafts on sale and wine accessories as gifts. -Miriam Cutler
