Located in Bayeux, this museum is dedicated to the art of Bayeux Tapestry. Belonging to the Calvados department, the Bretteville-sur-laize is a commune that is well known for being the home to the eminent Bretteville-sur-Laize Canadian War Cemetery. It is an age-old war cemetery that finely commemorates the soldiers who sacrificed their lives in the historic Battle of Normandy that was a constituent of the World War II. The burials moreover are those of Canadian soldiers. The cemetery was established in the year 1944 and comprises of 2,958 burials in totality.
The Bény-sur-Mer Canadian War Cemetery is a burial site in near Caen in Normandy that contains graves of many soldiers killed at the commencing stages of the Battle of Normandy during the Second World War. There cemetery contains graves of soldiers from the Third Canadian Division along with 15 Canadian airmen. There is also a grave of a French Resistance soldier, R. Guenard, who fought with the Canadians, and four graves of British soldiers. Nine sets of brothers are buried within the cemetery, which is the highest in any World War II cemetery. A Cross of Sacrifice stands within the cemetery, seen in many other Commonwealth burial sites.
